WE MAKE BUILDING FOR THE EDGE AS EASY AS BUILDING FOR THE CLOUD.
With more and more devices generating more data than we can possibly handle via existing infrastructure, we realize for a number of reasons people cannot send all that data back to the backend for processing either because of the cost of sending it over cellular or wi-fi, the bandwidth limitations, or simply they need an answer in real-time. Our mission is to make it as easy as possible to run applications at the Edge. We believe that you should be able to run any code the way you always have, and you shouldn't need to get a PhD in developing applications at the Edge in order to get started. We make it very simple. Use any code, any application, in any language, using any SDK and you can run at the Edge using the current skills you and your team have.
Build new technologies as if your grandchildren would use them.
Push your limits and the world's limits.
When you know more than others, teach.
When you know less than others, learn.
Edgeworx was formed after witnessing that there was a need to run applications right at the data source rather than transporting it all back to some backend. This problem is only going to get worse as more and more devices generate more data. It's impossible from a cost, bandwidth, latency, and security standpoint (just to name a few) to move all that data! Kilton Hopkins, who had been developing edge technology before Edge was even a term, noticed that there was a massive technical gap... but the infrastructure that each solution needed was the same, it was the applications that were different. He joined forces with Farah Papaioannou, a product expert, turned VC, turned entrepreneur to create Edgeworx. The goal: we build the Edge, you write the apps. It's that simple!
